Sorry Erin, but your approach to the link building is outdated already.
Link Building is not a one man/company show already. It successfully transformed into Automated Link Building (ALB).
ALB characteristics are :
- Big Data and big enough IT resources
- many people are involved
- huge money flow
- it's absolutely legal.
Doesn't it remind you something ? Yup ... more or less, this is Google in the early ages )
Now the question is - does it bother Google? Sure, it does, because of the obvious reason.
The next question is - what does Google can do? Let's see :
- Legal actions :
No, it can't.
These guys violate nothing. They earn money same way Google does. Google provides links to different pages, ALB provides same links just the other way. If someone sees link as something more, than pure path from page to page, then ALB can't be responsible for such approach.
- Somehow divide links on bad and good and ignore the first :
No, it can't.
ALB uses algorithms as well. Means these algorithms will be evolved. It will be just endless competition without the winner.
- Ban violators from the Google's index (current approach) :
ALB allows to grew up new networks very quickly and the most important, these networks will be better, than previous. Also there is no reason to build brands. Disposable websites are the solution. Means Google has to deal not only with the new networks, but also with millions of disposable websites also built automatically. Just imagine how the internet will look like soon :(
And that's it. As you can see Google has no bulletproof solution left, except one - ignore the Link as the Signal !!!
The latest move by Yandex proves, that this is possible and no doubt, that this is just the matter of time, when Google will do the same. It simply has no the other way.
